My Tumblr Eatup Treats have FINALLY Arrived!

Thanks to the egregiously unreliable NYC postal service, I finally tracked down my missing Tumblr Eat Up treats…. 22 days later.  Yep, it took the post office TWENTY TWO days to fix their mistake of 

• delivering the treats to the wrong person.. twice.
• never leaving me a note that they attempted delivery.
• falsely alerting me that the package was returned to sender.

But today they are mine!  Luci sent me Halloween candies and some amazing s’mores bars, which I immediately shoved in my mouth….. before realizing they were 22 days old.  They tasted delicious though, so I’m 99% sure I’ll eat the entire container by Wednesday.  

Luci - thank you so much for the treats, and I’m sorry you had to wait so long for them to make their way up the east coast!  

I’m glad they finally arrived!! :) Just pretend they’re for Thanksgiving, not Halloween. Heh.

Because the original treats she sent me never arrived (or were stolen by neighborhood kids) - Anne went way out of her way to send me a care package of treats from Dancing Deer Baking Co - and she managed to do that even though she GOT MARRIED THIS WEEKEND!!!

I’d say I hit the jackpot as far as Tumblr Eatup buddies go. Many thanks and congratulations to you, Anne!!

These arrived at my office at the perfect time - just as I was finishing another glorified turkey sandwich for lunch.  I’ve already eaten 10 of them and may need to share them with co-workers since I. CAN’T. STOP.

anyway. my latest test photo — the s’mores cookie bars I included in my Tumblr Eat-Up package! got the recipe from We Are Not Martha. not pictured: the completely burnt tray. 

hope they are still good once they get to my recipient!  and that the other goodies are good too. :)

thank you tumblr eat up buddy, mercury PDX! all this halloween swag and sugar overload is just perfect. and your peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are really delicious. a bit crispy on the outside with a nice little chew. would you mind sending me the recipe? could definitely make this in the future. after this round of eat up, i think that i need to go on a sugar diet.

I was pretty excited to get a Halloween treat on my porch when I got home from work - Cheesecake brownies with homemade salted caramel frosting, pumpkin cake bars with streusel, red velvet whoopie pie mix, and candy!!

So delicious!

I got my Tumblr Eatup stuff end of last week (the post office was most unkind to the package), but being very busy AND having extreme stomach problems kept me from doing anything with them.  Now that I’m on new stomach meds (YAY!) I’ve finally been able to sample them and I’d have to say they are quite yummy!  Thanks Steviruss!

my iphone picture does not do my treats justice. Erica over at midwest tourist was incredibly thoughtful when she put together my package. she lives in michigan, and wanted me to experience all the tastes of fall since fall is a laughable season in texas. 

she baked bread with apples from the region and sent carmel corn ((which has been devoured and my goodness - yum)) and some delightful jam!

thank you so much! i am exciting to start following your adventures through the midwest, from what i’ve read it’s going to be a great journey.

My Tumblr EatUp treats showed up yesterday!

I was thrilled to find out what was inside my box-o-goodies. Not sure if my buddy, Deidre (howtobehip), did some research, but she sure knew how to bake her way into my heart! Mini muffins? Butter?? Pumpkin!? So much deliciousness, I don’t know what to do with myself.

The mini muffins came with me to work this morning. They have been stashed in my desk drawer and will be consumed in secret so no one will ask “can I have one?” :)

Confession: I can’t help but let the thoughts of pecan pie and pumpkin spice cookies distract me. The thought of TWO types of tasty treats waiting for me when I get home from a long day at work just carries my all worries away!

Tumblr EatUp is the best. EVER.
